“I’ve been searching the internet for weeks now looking for a site like yours. It’s great! I’m planning on building my own home (ranch with a basement) once my house sells and i’ve been trying to find a site that takes me through the process of building so I can be prepared. I especially like the section on obtaining a building permit. It seems very helpful.
I work construction for a living and have friends in pretty much every trade that I would need (excavating, plumbing, electrical, concrete), so my hope is to use the profit from selling my house (hopefully around $25,000 to $30,000) and get the basics of a house up and then be able to move into it while I finish. Probably be a several year process, but I am determined. Do you know of any links and/or other information that can help me with this “build as you go” project of mine. I will be the GC and will hire subs if I have to, but I want to do most of the work myself. Am I crazy? Thanks guys (and gals)”

Do you have a home building project that you’ll be doing over time? What do you plan to do first? Do you plan on temporary housing on-site while building (if permitted)? Share your ideas, too.
Another great site for building your own small home is CountryPlans.com.

Super-Duper site! I am loving it!! Will come back again – taking your feeds too now, Thanks.
